October 31, 2022 - Geneva, Zug: Taurus SA is pleased to announce that it joins Acurast’s service as an independent Data Transmitter.

In mid October 2022, Acurast, allows developers to integrate price feeds, verifiable randomness, or any other off-chain data or computation for their decentralized applications in various ecosystems such as Polkadot, Tezos, NEAR, and more.

Acurast has reimagined the concept of bringing off-chain data on-chain, creating a platform where developers can access real world data and computation processed by Data Transmitters, within their applications through a streamlined marketplace.

Data Transmitters offer their computation to developers and process Acurast Jobs in the Acurast Trusted Virtual Machine that utilizes Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) such as the Android TEE, available in consumer Android devices, to ensure the trustlessness of Acurast’s system. Acurast is not dependent on one TEE and can support others such as the one from Taurus in the future.

Developers are empowered to build with the flexibility they need to get off-chain data or computation for their use case without centralized approvals and to develop without restriction. How and where to get data or computation is completely up to the developers.
